HORSEMAN THROWN.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) WHAKATANE, this day, Falling at the second hurdle in a jumping event at the Te Teko sports yesterday, a horse ridden by Mr. M. Weigel, of Otamarakau, was injured so severely that it had to be destroyed. Mr. Weigel was thrown clear, but was rendered unconscious) He was taken to the Whakatane Hospital and recovered sufficiently to return to his home in the afternoon.
