BERLIN, January 1
President von liindenburg's New Year message for the first time includes a vigorous demand for . the revision of the Young_ Plan, which he states "is still casting - a dark shadow on Germany's future."
The evacuation of the Rhiheland was the only fulfilment of last year's hopes, the President states, and more energy must be infused towards real disarmament, not only as an act of international justice to Germany, but also as t>ic surest means of universal peace.
Field-Marshal Hindenburg expresses regret that internal differences are tending to tear the nation apart and' to frustrate united efforts against common dangers. The Government's plan is the only hope of overcoming the unexampled economic distress and the people must rise above obstinate internecine quarrels between business interests and labour leaders, all patriots joining in a common effort to face' the threat to upset the whole moral and social foundations 'of the nation.
