INDIA'S FUTURE.
HINDU AND MOSLEM, Discussion on Differences Resumed. FREEDOM TOR MINORITIES. (British Official Wireless.) (.Received 1.30 p.m.) RUGBY, January 1. The Minorities Sub-Committee of the India Round Table Conference this morning continued the discussion on Hindu and Moslem differences. On behalf of the Hindus it was suggested that the method whereby the League of Nations had dealt with the European minorities questions offered a precedent for India. In dealing with the European minorities the principle had been accepted that they should be so defined and treated as not to destroy the unity of the State. The majority in India were prepared 'to give minorities the greatest measure of protection on lines adopted by the League of Nations and to give freedom for exercise and the, development of their religion, race, language, and culture. ■ An appeal was made to pool their interests for the good of the new India.
