As Well as Italy.
FINDING BRITISH PILOTS,
(British Official Wireless.)
RUGBY, January 1.
The Royal Aero Club, as representative of Britain, holder of the Schneider Cup, in addition to the entry of three 'planes by Italy, later received an'entry on behalf of France of three seaplanes for the race. ■'■"'*".' Britain captured 'the trophy from Italy in 1927 and held it in 1929 against the'only competitor, Italy. If Britain wins the coming race, for which France and Italy are ' challengers, she will secure the trophy outright. The aeronautical correspondent of the "Times" says the Royal Aero Club, ;which will defend the Schneider Cup on behalf of Britain, is'faced with the difficulty of raising a team of civilian pilots,, and wishes to add an extra seaplane to those which contested the trophy in 1929. These -will not run at full speed, because the cooling surfaces are inadequate. The Paris correspondent of the "Times" says the ■ French- Air Ministry has appointed three pilots, MM. Amanrich, Domougeot <and Boncaut, to begin training for the Schneider Cup race. AIL are young in the service, and are well fitted to undergo the severe physical strain of. the contest. •• ' • .';
