SMALL FRUIT SALE

There was a small fruit sale at the city markets this morning, when moderate supplies were disposed of. The two more important lines were strawberries and tomatoes. Both met with a good demand, the latter fruit fetching slightly higher prices than at the beginning of the week. Prices were: —Strawberries: Captain Cooks, up to 1/2 a chip; Marguerites, up to Sd; Helenslea Surprise, up to B%d. Tomatoes: No. l's, 5d to Bd, according to size; No. 2's and mediums, 2d to 4d.
