NEW YEAR TOURNAMENT. THREE' ROUNDS PLAYED. A successful start in the Remuera Bowling Club's New Year tournament was made yesterday. As a result oft overnight rain the greens were slow and holding. The bowling tournament opened in line weather, but rain fell for half an hour in the afternoon. The greens were in perfect order and keen contests -were the order of the day.' The clubs represented were Cambridge'; Frankton, Matamata, Mount Albert, Ngaruawahia, Onehmiga, Paeroa, Te Awamutu, Takapuna, Thames, Te Aroha and Waihi.
