COUNTRY CLUB'S CONTEST.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) MASTERTON, this day.
Good contests were witnessed at the Country Club's championships, which were held yesterday by the Masterton Amateur Athletic Club. A record number of clubs competed. The McVilly Shield was annexed by the Masterton Club by a substantial margin cf 61 points. Masterton gained 102 points, and the Kai Toa Club (Palmerston North), who won the trophy last year, were runners-up with 41 points. Dannevirke scored 28 points, Napier 20, Martinborough 10 J, Carterton 71, and Waipawa 6.
