WOMEN PILOTS.
SOLO FLIGHTS MADE
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.)
NEW PLYMOUTH, Tuesday.
Solo flights were made for the first time yesterday by two lady members of the Western Federated Aero Club. They were Misses Edna ' Hicks, of Tikorangi, and Jane Winstone, of Wanganui. Thirty pupils of the club have°now had solo flying experience. Miss Hicks flew solo after only 6$ hours' dual flying experience. Miss Winstone is probably the youngest lady pilot in New Zealand, being only 18 years of age. Both airwomen carried out their test flights splendidly.
