BUDGET'S OWN SERIAL STORY.

SECOND INSTALMENT JUDGED,

PARTY GAME COMPETITION PROVES POPULAR,

Dear Boys and Girls, —

Many Budgetites continued the serial story from that point where the winner of the last competition left off. For the most part the work was very good, and by the number of entries received one may judge that the competition was a popular one. The special prize of 7/6 went to Alfred Ansley, Hatrick Terrace, . Wanganui, whose contribution is printed elsewhere on this page. Other work worthy of special mention was sent in by Jean Hill, Margery Nicol and Leonard Heatley. I don't know what could have happened to our young artists this week, for the standard of the original sketch competition was very poor •' indeed. Kathleen Galvin was awarded the first prize, Ray Bishop the second, and El ma Hall the third.

i Entries, however, were exceptionally good for the party game competition. Many contributions were sent in and the work was so good '■ that it resulted in a long list of certificate winners. For a game called "Photographs" Jean Duncan was awarded the first prize. Margery Nicol, ■who told how "Jumbled Coats" could played, received the second award, whilst the third and fourth places were given to Lola Hole and , Miy Frost respectively. /"27N To-day competitors are to supply 1 the third instalment of the Budget's own fl* ti^^P^^ *erial story, and this should give all n37 OAfi^*^^^ Budgetites plenty of food for thought.
