RACE FASHIONS.

ON ELLERSLIE LAWNS.

BEAUTIFUL SUMMER MODELS

' FLOWING CHIFFONS AND GEORGETTES.

The lawn at Ellerslie presented a brilliant spectacle to-day, when the first meeting of the Auckland Racing Club's summer carnival was held. Seldom have the fashions been more, attractive. All featured tlie long, graceful, flowing lines that are the latest decree, and the colours ran the gamut of all the delightful pastel shades. Floral chiffons were much favoured, and the models displayed showed delightful flares, smart little coatees, flowing sleeve draperies and tumbling cascades of colour. In many cases the hems of the gowns nearly swept the ground, and a charming picture was provided as groups of-wearers of these styles clustered together in .the shade of the fine old trees that line the lawns.
