LESS TONNAGE, FEWER SHIPS, '»

DROP IN GOODS IMPORTED. (Received 9.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, December 26. The Sydney Harbour Trust's annual report shows that for the year ended June, 1930, vessels of a net tonnage of 8,9-10,535, and of a * gross tonnage of 15,410,047 entered the harbour. The number of snips was 870 less than the preceding year, but the gross tonnage had only decreased by 218,558, this decrease being nearly all accounted for in inter-State trade. This was largely due to the prolonged coal stoppage. The value of goods imported into the country was £88,750,000, which' represented a drop of over £8,000,000. Exports were valued at nearly £34,750,000. This was a decline of over £13,000,000 as compared with the preceding year.
