THE TEN SHILLING TOTE.
You made an announcement a few days ago that the Auckland Racing Club has decided against alteration of tote units for their forthcoming meeting. One of the reasons given was the impossibility of altering the machine in time. Surely the f 1 units could be called 10/ and the 10/ called 5/ and the sucessful lead of the Takapuna Club followed. Why is the committee not aware of the general topic of conversation in the town at present? A working ma'n like myself cannot afford these days to bet in 10/, and it is always difficult to find a friend to make up a ticket on the same horse. If some of the committee would visit the! Leger and outside enclosures this Christmas they would learn something. Ellerslie would be a popular resort for the working man this season. SPORT.
