AT WELLINGTON.

WELLINGTON, this day. • The Plunket Shield match between Wellington and Otago was resumed at the Basin Reserve this morning, when the visitors continued their first innings. Wellington yesterday had Deen disposed of for 189. The weather to-day was warm, With a fairly strong northerly wind. Blunt and Cherry resumed Otago s innings to the bowling of Blundfell and Crook. Steady bowling kept the batsmen quiet, the first run coming after 10 minutes, and only .6* in the first 25 minutes. J. Newniah then relieved Crook, who had bowled six overs, including four hiaidensj for 8 runs and one wicket. A. Newman then took.' over from Blundell (lione for 10 off eight oVers, including four maidens). Twenty appeared on the board after the innings had been ill progress 45 minutes. Tne proceedings were still slow, with runs coming mainly in singles, but a hit.to fine-leg by Blunt off A. Newman realised the first four of the innings. Blunt executed some more nice strokes, Which were mainly responsible fp# the score reaching the thirties. With the total at 34 McLeod relieved A. Newman, whose four overs had cost 12 funs. . Cherry and Blunt were still together at ■ midday, but shbf tly i afterwards, when the partnership had added 52 runs, three wickets fell in quick Succession, Blundell doing the damage; At 12.20 p.m. the score was 63 for four wickets* ..Blundell had taken three Wickets tot 12 runs off nine overs, four df-Which Were maidens.
