MAEAMA .DEPARTED. A sailing from Auckland last evening was the Union Company's passenger steamer Marama, for Wellington. She is to leave Wellington for Sydney on Friday afternoon. THE PORT DUNEDIN. The Commonwealth and Dominion Line motor ship Port Dunedin is scheduled to clear Liverpool oh Saturday for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. She is due here about January 9. MAHIA FOR LOADING. To L. D. Nathan's agency, the S.S. and A. steamer Mania is expected to arrive at Auckland from Napier for Homeward loading on Saturday morning. She is to make Auckland her linal port. THE PORT PIRIE. Next of the C. and D. Line steamers to leave New York for New Zealand is the Port Pirie, which is scheduled: to sail on December 20. She will discharge at the four main ports, Auckland first. THE CANADIAN VICTOR. Bringing general cargo from Montreal, the Canadian National steamer Canadian Victor is expected to arrive at Auckland about December 10. She has not yet reported. THE PORT WELLINGTON. The C. and D. Line steamer, Port Wellington has been fixed to commence Homeward loading at Auckland about December 38. She will fill up at Wellington, L-yttel-ton and Port Chalmers, being scheduled to sail finally on January 7 for London. THE CITY OF DELHI. Running under the auspices of the A. and A. Line, the steamer City of Delhi is due at Auckland from New York about December 21. She will also discharge at Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. THE PORT 'NICHOLSON. At present completing her cargo at the Queen's wharf, the Commonwealth and Dominion Line steamer Port Nicholson is to sail at midday to-morrow for London, via Panama. THE CANADIAN CONSTRUCTOR. On arrival from Wellington late to-night or early to-morrow morning, the Canadian National steamer Canadian Constructor will berth at the King's wharf. She is to sail to-morrow evening for New York, Boston and Halifax. MALOLO SAILS TO-DAY. Punctually at 5 o'clock'this evening the Matson Line Malolo is scheduled to continue her Pacific cruise. Her next port of call will be Suva, and thence she will return to San Francisco, via Pago Pago and Honolulu. THE REMUERA. Advice received by the local office of the New Zealand Shipping Company states that the Remuera is expected to leave Wellington this evening for Auckland. After completing discharge of her Home cargo at this port she' will commence London loading. She has been allotted a berth at the Queen's wharf. RANGITANE'S SAILING TIME. It is announced by the New Zealand Shipping Co. that the motor liner Rangitane will sail for Southampton and London, via Panama, at midday on Saturday, instead of at daybreak, as previously announced. The vessel is completing her cargo at the Central wliarf. THE MELBOURNE MARU. An expected arrival at Auckland on Friday morning is the Japanese motor ship Melbourne Maru, from. Japan and other Eastern ports, via Australia and Wellington. She is to sail the same day on her return "voyage to Japan, via Hobart, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. (A. G. Frankham, Ltd., agents.) KUROW IN PORT. With cargo from Devonport, Ad«laide and Melbourne, the Union Co.'s steamer Kurow arrived at Auckland early this morning and berthed at the Prince's wharf. Strong south-west gales were experienced on the trip to Australia, but fine weather prevailed for the return trip. The is to sail to-morrow Evening for New Plymouth, Wellington, Lyttelton and Tarakohe. THE .WAIOTAPU. Bringing general cargo from Pacific Coast ports, the Union Co.'s freighter Waiotapu is expected to leave Apia this evening and is due at Auckland about December 11. After discharge here she will go to Wellington, Melbourne, Adelaide and Sydney. TAUPATA TO SAIL. On her maiden voyage the new auxiliary schooner Taupata is to leave Auckland at noon on Saturday for Norfolk Island. She is loading at the Central wharf under the agency of Spedding, Ltd. From Norfolk Island the schooner will return to Auckland and will then be taken over by her owners, the Anchor Shipping Co. PACKAGES FROM AUSTRALIA. On and after December 1 every article or package of a gross weight of one ton or byer, intended for shipment from Australian ports, must have its weight clearly and distinctly marked thereon. A regulation has been issued under the Navigation A.ct, setting out that every package or article of a gross weight of one metric ton (22051b) cr over, before being loaded on any oversea or inter-State vessel at any Commonwealth, port shall have prominently marked upon it, or upon a label securely attached to it, in legible and durable characters of not less than one inch in height, a statement of its approximate gross weight, in tons and hundredweights. Where it is not practicable to weigh, by reason of their nature or place of shipment, such articles as logs, baulks of timber, or other articles which are of a weight of over 22051b. the gross weight may be stated approximately within a limit of one ton as "Over 1 Ton but under 2 Tuns," or, as the case may be.
