AUCKLAND-BUILT CRAFT
TO GO TO NELSON,
After her trials yesterday afternoon, the auxiliary scliooner recently launched by ' Mr. Geo. Niccol was bought by the Anchor Shipping and Foundry Company, of Nelson, who wilt name -her Taupata. The new vessel was fitted with two Diesel engines of 140 li.p. each, which, were expected to give her a speed of a little over 9 J knots. On trials yesterday, however, she maintained over 10 knots over a measured course of three miles. The Taupata is expected to leave Auckland early.next month for Norfolk Island,- whence she will go to Nelson. Her owners intend to use her in the carriage of frui J ; from Motueka, Mapua and Nelson to Wellington.
