CARPENTER SENT TO GAOL. if THEFTS DURING- DARKNESS. ■■s ;(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DANNEVIRKE, this day. William Neville Stock, a carpenter by trade, faced Mr. J. Miller, S.M., to answer 20 charges of the theft of articles ranging from a grit mill and motor car equipment down to tennis frails. He pleaded guilty. It was shown that the accused -was a night roamer, wind that the articles were mostly stolen during the hours of darkness. Stock ■was sentenced to three months 3 on each of two charges, the sentences to be cumulative, and one month on each of the others, these sentences to be coneurrcnt.
