Eight survivors were notified, one of whom, N. G. Eadcliffe, died yesterday in hospital. The position of the hands and arms of the dead indicated that death was not immediate. Each is shrouded by a British flag. M. Tardiou, French Premier, has proclaimed to-morrow as a day of national mourning throughout France. Standing in silence the leaders of the Imperial Conference passed a motion of sympathy. Mr. Mac Donald, Mr. B. B. Bennett (Canada) and Mr. Scullin (Australia) recorded their sorrow at the loss of the airship and paid homage to the gallant pioneers in the cause of progress, also expressing sympathy with the bereaved families. In connection with Lord Thomson's death, at the opening of the Labour Conference, Mr. Arthur Henderson, Foreign Secretary, paid a tribute to those who perished in ElOl, and. delegates stood in silence for a minute.
