QUARTERLY CIRCUIT MEETING.

The quarterly meeting of the Onehunga Methodist Circuit was held last night, the Rev. F. E. Leadley presiding. The number of members was reported to be 243 adult and 160 junior. The income for the quarter was £170, and the expenditure £150. The amount raised during the year by the women's missionary auxiliary was £44, which included an anonymous donation of £5 towards the Solomon Island girls' school. Special collections in aid. of the home mission fund are to be taken throughout the circuit on Sunday, November 30, and retiring collections for the Methodist orphanages on December 14. Encouraging reports were given of the work of the Sunday schools in the circuit, special mention being made of the seventyfifth anniversary of the Onehunga school, to be celebrated in November. Mr. W. R. Hooking, foreign mission treasurer, reported that the amount raised this year was £69 2/6.

A unanimous invitation was extended to the Rev. F. E. Leadley to labour in.the circuit _ another year. In accepting the invitation, subject to the approval of conference, Mr. Leadley said that this would be his last year in the Onehunga circuit. Messrs. A. J. Pople and A. W. Westncy were appointed lay representatives to the Methodist Synod, and Messrs. F. C. Pace and S. Allison substitute representatives. Messrs. W. R. Hooking and F. C. Pace were appointed circuit auditors, and Mr. Pace circuit representative on the New Zealand Alliance. Messrs. F. A. Skinner and T. Ashe were elected society stewards. It was decided to send a letter of appreciation to Mr. O. Hall for his services as driver of the circuit car. A letter was received from the Merrilands Ratepayers and Residents' Association asking the circuit to join with other denominations in providing Sunday services in the Association Hall in Oranga Avenue. The meeting was sympathetic to the request, and decided that the chairman arrange the quota of services required. .
