THAMES VALLEY CLUB. OPENING OF THE RANGE. MORRINSVILLE, Monday, The official opening of the Thames ValJey Defence Rifle dub's range at jlorrinsville ior the season took place on Saturday. The Defence Department was offering the loan of a rifle to reservists. The patron, Mr. G. Howie, fired the last shot, registering a "bull." Afternoon tea was served by tne ladies. The Whangarei Rifle Club held a teams match at tho week-end, between the president's and vice-presidents' teams, over 200 and 300 yards. The vice-presidents' riuun won by 550 points to 537. The second shoot for Mr. R. Melville's trophy was fired last week, tin: ranges being 200 and 500 yards, 10 shots at each range.
