WEST COAST FLOODS.
RAILWAY LINES BLOCKED. SLIP IX KADIATA TUNNEL. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) UKEYMOUTH, this clay. Heavy night rains have caused several slips and wash-outs throughout the district. Tho water is over the railway lines near Arahura, tho permanent way being washed out. The Hokitika train to Groyinouth was unablo to get through yesterday. Tho I'aroa, lioad is under water and the main road between Cameron's and Kumara is also affected. Rivers are in flood and creeks arc running bank high. Serious damage near Stafford is reported. A big slip near tho tunnel of the hydro-electric works at Kaimata brought down 3000 tons of soil, blocking the outlet, and tho tunnel is now full of water. All work has been suspended but the. outlook is now better, as the rain eased this morning.
