EXCELLENT TEN FURLONG-S. (Received 12.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, this day. The semi-final gallops were held at Randwick to-day on the course proper, the flags being 33ft from the rails The going was good. Over seven furlongs the horses covered an additional 30 yards eight furlongs 32 yards and oven ten furlongs 4i> yards. In the Shade gave Axiuus and Santord two seconds' start over ten furlong and finishing resolutely, defeated Axinus bv a head and Santord by two lengths iii 2.123 —an excellent performance. Pentheua did seven furlon°- s in 1.27* Balloon Kimr defeated Papatu by" a neck over ten airlongs in 2.12£. Amounis beat Ta Chat over a mile in 1.49 J. Nightmareh was too good for Dominant over seven furlongs in 1.3 H. Sargon led Vali at the end of furlongs in 1.50 J. Donald, alone, ran a mile in 1.435. Fuji San covered seven furlongs in 1.0 lit. Cathmar beat Tom Pinch pointless over seven furlongs "n 1.25. The going was fast on the tan, where Paquito ran six furlongs in 1.165. Limerick led Dunraven ovep four furlongs in SOJs. Phar Lap beat Motley over nine furlongs in 2.1. Aorangi accounted for a mile in LSIJ. Waterline, looking light, did steady exercise. Gay Crest is suffering from a bruised heel.
