EPSTEIN'S WORK.

Statuary on N.Z.-Owned Building

In London.

FATED FOR DEMOLITION. LONDON, September 28. The froup of statues by Jacob Epstein on the British Medical Association's former building in the Strand, which rather shocked London 25 y^ a '' s ago because of its nude figures but have become considerably toned down by the London grime, is again in the limelight. The New Zealand Government now owns the building, which is marked out for demolition. The British Medical Association says it is not feasible to make an offer for the statues for its new building in Tavistock Square, _ because Epstein's work hardly harmonises with an Elizabethan courtyard.
