10/6 FOR A FEW SUGGESTION PETER PAN MAKES AN APPEAL. Dear Boys and Girls, — What with Wendy's letter and the contributions in our new corner, this page has quite a "spring-y" appearance. . Unfortunately, however, the bounds of the page are far from spr gy (pardon the pun), and daily the strain on our space becomes more and more acute. On the last occasion when that happened the bounds were broken and we burst out, into additional space, but such things cannot hope to happen twice. , , , The problem is one that must be faced and I want to enlist the help of readers in finding a solution. Will those interested offer suggestions, please ? You see, it is the policy of the Budget to provide just what the majority of readers want, and at the same time cater for all tastes. If you were editor of these columns, what would you do. A prize of 10/6 is offered for the most helpful suggestion. The method I want readers to employ is this, make a s*cale model of the inside of our coloured pages, ruled into two sets of seven columns each. Still keeping to scale, represent the various features you would like to see by ruling off a section of the column or columns required, and inside the "box" so made describe the feature thus: —"Story, or Talk about Aeroplane Construction," or "Mailbag," etc., etc. Pictures or drawings would be served in the same way, only in this case describe the type or picture or drawing. * If necessary, supply a further written report, but this should be as brief as possible. AH the suggestions offered may not be used, for often good ideas cannot be put into practice because of some. f j technical difficulty.
