CLOCK HALTS A FUGITIVE.
HITS HIS HEAD AND RINGS. An alarm clock, accurately aimed, ended the "freedom of William Daley, a former long-term convict out on probation at Philadelphia, U.S.A.. Daluy and two other men were being pursued for attempting to steal an automobile in the northern section of the city. Two of the men escaped and Daley ran into the back yard of a hotise to hide. The noise he made fumbling with a lock of the house' awakened David Singer. The only weapon at hand was the alarm clock, which Singer let go from an upper window. It struck Daley on the head and began to ring. Policemen searching the neighbourhood heard tile alarm and found Daley half dazed in the yard.
