To hasten, the germination of halfhardy ■ bedding ,' plants, tomatoes, vegetable marrows, etc., sow the seeds carefully in small pots or pans. Place these in one of a. larger size, and pack the intervening space with damp moss or leaves. Put a sheet of glass over each, and keep on the coolest corner of the plate rack over the kitchen stove. Fail-, ing this, they may be stood on the mantelshelf until the seedlings appear, when they Ehould be moved to a sunnv window.
