TRAFFIC OFFENCES.
FEWER PROSECUTIONS. IMPROVEMENT IN AUCKLAND. There has been a large decline in the number of prosecutions of motorists during the past two years. Complaints were made by the Auckland Chamber of Commerce some time ago about the excessive number of prosecutions for petty breaches of the motor regulations and by-laws; and the latest figures reveal a marked improvement. As evidence of the change, there were 2577 cases before the Auckland Courts last year, compared with 4053 in 1925. states Dr. E. P. Neale, secretary of the Chamber of Commerce. The convictions in 192S were 1G,2G1, and in 1929, 10,707.
