Waiomo Sulphide.—During the period ending September 12, No. 2 winze from No. 3 level lias been sunk 78ft. At Toft a drive on the new reef was projected and is along 31ft. At this point with only the footwall exposed about sft of ore, worth £ 3 2/6 is showing. The reef here is larger and Of better grade than was revealed at a corresponding point at No. 3 level. Owing to further trouble with connection between mine and mill, crushing has boeD suspended to allow of alterations. It is anticipated in the near future that tlis full capacity of the mill will be utilised indefinitely in crushing ore from the Zeehan and Monowai sections. The reconditioning of No. 4 level, Monowai section, is well advanced and the level should shortly be available as an avenue of transport of milling Ore from this section. It has been found that while the ore from the Zeelmn section .is of a distinctly payable grade the output is insufficient to meet milling reauirements. In the Monowai section the ore body ranges in width from 25ft to 40ft and contains ore which was not amenable to anv treatment available prior to the evolution of the oil flotation process Jhe countv council have almost completed an excellent motor road from the harbour .« t.iic company's No. 4 level and bulk parcels of ore from the stopes opened will shortly be sent for treatment.
