FLUCTUATIONS IN SHARES.

BANKS STILL FALLING. ! MOST MARKETS WEAK. Selling pressure has been the dominant feature on the local Stock. Exchange during the past 24 hours. Fresh sales, mostly at lower rates, were completed yesterday afternoon, and this morning the market was decidedly "sick." At the ten o'clock call buyers held off from hank shares, the only offers being at 14/6 tor Commercials, £5 for- New Zealand Nationals, and £30 for New South Wales. Insurance, too, were affected similarly, and there were no inquiries for either New Zealands or South British. New Zealand Breweries were weak, and there were offers to sell at £2 5/6. Hay ward's Pictures slipped further, with sellers at 11/6, and Farmers Fertilisers were available at 18/3. ; There were inquiries for Farmers Auctioneering pref. shares at 16/6 for the A's and 15/6 for the B's. A parcel of 4%'s was offered at £100 5/, and one of 5% Inscribed at £99 10/. Commercials at 14/9. There was no improvement during the morning, and a sale recorded at the noon rail of Commercial Banks at the new low level of 14/9 was indicative of the general trend More were available at the same figure; and New Zealands were again offered at £2 14/3.
