TEN NEW SETTLERS.

OMAHUTA BLOCK ALLOTTED.

GREAT INTEREST IN BALLOT. Teh sections in tie Omahutu bloelt, comprising 2430 acres, were allotted by ballot yesterday at the meeting of the North Auckland Land Board. Tin's block was formerly a State forest reserve, and is situated at the head of the Holdanga Harbour. Access is from the MangamukuKawnkawa main highway by a new road to be constructed from the Okaihau side of Taikawhana Post Office, about 30 miles from Okaihau railway station. Great interest was taken in the ballot for the bjock, and 76 applications were received, mostly from the local people in and around the district. The applicants were all examined by the board, and appeared generally a fine type of settler. The following were the successful applicants:— Sections 2 and 3. Block XV Maungataniwha S.D., J.
