Continuing Ma solo fight from England to Australia Captain Matthews reached Calcutta at noon t>day from Allahabad, and hopes to proceed to Bangkok to-morrow via Akyab. He has reached Calcutta on the- eighth day of his flight, thus equalling Miss Amy Johnson's time, and is a day ahead of Bert Hinkler's time for the distance.
