The Local Bills Committee of the House has added to the Auckland City Council and Motuihi Island Domain Empowering Bill a new clause giving the council the right to close the domain and foreshore, and to prevent any person from enteriag or landing on Motuihi Island while a vessel is at the quarantine station, when, on account of disease among stock at the station, closing is advisable, or when the domain is required in a national emergency for defence, internment or other purposes.
