ON 'CHANGE.

FLUCTUATIONS IN SHARES.

FAIR BUSINESS PASSING. WITH VALUES STILL LOW. A fair amount of business was finalised yesterday afternoon, and at this morning s call several fresh sales were notified. Markets, however, continue weak. Buyers are extremely chary with their bids, this being particularly noticeable at this morning's call. In the Banking section New South Wales showed a slight recovery, with buyers at £31. For Commercials 16/9 was the best offer, and for New Zealands £2 15/. New Zealand Breweries were available at £2 8/, and Mount Lyells at £1. Insurances were easier, and the only strong section was Government stock, for which holders are still asking £100 10/ foil's and £99 10/ for 5Ws. The Noon Call. Further selling took place during the morning, with continued weakness in many lines. Commercial Banks tapped a new low level with a sale at 17/, after which the highest bidder stopped at 16/7. A slight reaction in favour of New South Wales was shown in a sale at £31 2/6. Auckland Gas were asked for, with buyers at £1 4/. There was a fair inquiry in the shipping section, with P.. and O.'s asked for at £2 3/, and Union Steamship prefs. at £1. A parcel of Government War Bonds, 4Wb, was offered at £100 7/6. Commercials at 17/.
