CHEMISTS' BALL.

Dixieland presented a bright scene last 6vfcning, when a large number 6i dancers attended the ball held there by the Auckland combined chemists. Spirited music was a feature of the evening's entertainment and things went with a merry swing from start to finish. With bowls i>f vivid spring flowers, which were arranged on the small tables, the large dance room looked very attractive, while the revolving light, which cast 6i'lv;ery beams on the pretty frocks below, added considerably to the scene. On the supper tables, which were arranged in the 'estibulc, were tall vases containing shaded Iceland poppies and golden daffodils, and lining the entrance and in each corner were gracefgul palms and masses of greenery.
