LANGUAGE PROBLEM.

The flourishing British film colony at Elstree may become a new Hollywood and centre of the talkie industry if plans now being discussed mature, says the "Daily Mail." Three of the most important American film companies have decided that Elstree is most suitable for the production of multi-lingual pictures, owing to its convenient European situation. They are now negotiating to open huge studios, the building and equipment of which will cost £5,000,000, probably offering openings for British capital and providing employment for thousands. Mr. Adolph Zukor, on behalf of Para-mount-Famous Lasky group, has already agreed to pay £300*000 to the- British Dominions Film Corpoi-ation for the right to make films with the existing plant.
