■ Sir Thomas Liptbn gave up hope of victory to-day as, he witnessed the accident to the; Shamrock, at the same time reiterating that this is his last attempt. .-'lt seems the Shamrock cannot win," he stated. "No single man in England can build a million dollar yacht alone, and without that none can hope to lift the cup. Hereafter it will have to be syndicate against syndicate."
