An enjoyable concert, organised by the Amalgamated Engineers' Union, on behalf of unemployed members, was given in the Town Hall last evening. Items were given by the Auckland professional musicians' orchestra, the Clarion Quartet and assisting artists. The overture' "Morning; Noon and Night" was played by the orchestra, and solos were sung by Misses Liilian Woods and Beryl Smith, and Messrs. L. Harvey and D. Black. Mi , . G. Poore played a flute solo, and humour was provided by Mr. H. Samuel. Violin solos by Master Harold Taberner, the boy violinist, were also appreciated. It's tough luok that times are hard, but there's no need to have tough meat. A.M.C. quality is always choice, tender and appetising.
