'] ■ WELLINGTON, this day. : ■ Replying to a deputation to'day from the Society for the Protection of Women and Children, the;Acting-Prime Minister, the Hon. E. A. Ransom, said the Government had been very reluctant to cut down grants for social services and he hoped to make arrangement whereby the society's grant would be ' restored. If they could not restore the whole of the £100 lie would be very disappointed.
