The match' was scheduled tot Point Chevalier and the referee, Mr. C. V. Fowler, was on the spot, but the College Rifles side had only seven men in attendance. In the circumstances College Rifles defaulted to Ponsonby, who were fully manned, and these players who turned out, played a practice match with Mr. jfovner as referee.
