INCREASED MILEAGE.
NEW DEVICE ON TEST. CAPETOWN", September 14. Two motor engineers aro applying a, device to motor cars similar to one recently patented in London, which guaranteed to give an extra mileage of 10 per cent. The device improves the acceleration and keeps the engine cool. Steam from the radiator passes through a superheater, and from there to the condenser, and thence to the intake pipe of the carburettor. Another tube takes the fumes from the sump to the valves, thence to the intake pipe to the engine from the carburettor. Buses are being fitted with the device. .
