TAKAPUNA GUN CLUB.
Low visibility, coupled with a strong head wind and occasional stinging rain showers, made shooting conditions difficult at the fortnightly shoot held by the Takapuua Gun Club on Saturday afternoon. Despite these adverse conditions, a good muster of members and visitors from other clubs was recorded and some surprisingly good markniauship was witnessed. The main event, a nine-bird open handicap, resulted in three competitors securing eight birds, thus rendering a shoot-off necessary. Results: — Five-bird "Eye-opener" Handicap Sweepstakes. —F.
