MERCHANTS' CABLES. Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having received the following' cablegram from their London principals, Messrs. Samuel Page and Son, dated 4th instant:— Butter: Quotations nominal. Buyers are holding off in. expectation of lower prices. New Zealand, finest salted, 124/ to 128/; Danish, 143/ to 145/; Australian, finest unsalted, 124/ to 126/; finest ealted, 122/ to 126/; g.a.q., 118/ to 120/. Cheese: The market is depressed. New Zealand, white, 71/ to 73/; coloured, 76/ to 78/; Canadian, white, 74/ to 78/; coloured, 76/ to 80/; c.i.f., 70/ to 72/; Australian, white, 70/ to 71/; coloured, 75/ to 76/. Messrs. Joseph Nathan and Co. have received the following cable from their London principals, Messrs. Nathan and Trengrouse, as follow:—Butter: Market quiet. Unchanged. Cheese: White, 71/; coloured, 74/ per cwt. Supplies of coloured heavy.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. has received the following Gable from its • London house, dated September 3:—Butter: 127/ per cwt. Cheese: White, 73/ to 74/; coloured, 76/ to 78/ per cwt. Market slow.

CHICAGO WHEAT VALUES.

Wheat for delivery in September is quoted at Chicago at BVA cents per bushel. For December delivery the rate is 87% cents, for March 91% cents, and for May 94% cents.

SYDNEY, September 4. The following are to-day's quotations on the Sydney produce market:— Wheat.—Cargoes dull. Bulked, 3/4; bagged, 3/5. Flour—£9 10/. Bran.—£6 5/. Pollard.—£6.

Potatoes.—Tasmanian, £6 to £8; Victorian, £6 10/. "Oats.—White, 4/; Algerian, 4/4. Maize.—4/6.
