ODDFELLOWS DANCE.
Rarely has the Manurewa Theatre presented a more attractive appearance than on the occasion of the Loyal Matiurewa Manchester Unity Oddfellows' Lodge's ball on Wednesday evening, when a gathering of about a hundred and iifty couples was present. Gaily coloured streamers intertwined with a profusion of lycopodiuni, radiating from a huge circle of balloons, formed the centre of the decorations, with the stage presenting a carefully constructed nikau whare. The dark green of the closely interwoven fronds, the punga ferns and tapestries of lycopodiuni, illuminated by concealed lights, provided a picturesque setting. Bowls of narcissus and violets decorated the eupper tables, with streamers and Chinese lanterns overhead. Bro. H. Ajtchison, N.G., extended a welcome to all "present, and. Grand Master Bro. Pitcher officiated in the presentation, of «a. framed Past Grand's emblem to Bro , . D. Peebles.in appreciation of services rendered to the lodge. A grand march was led by the Noble Grand and Sieter L. Luptoh, the latter wearing a frock of flanie and gold taffeta with gold, and shawl to "match. Others among those present were: Mrs. H. Kilduff, wearing sunset taffeta, relieved with autumn tints; Mrs. D. Peebles, pale pink lame and satin; Mrs. H. WMtford, eilvor brocado bodice, lace ekirt; Mr»s. C. Jenkins, navy, blue lace; Mrs. D.. Donaldson, flame eatin, silver lacej Mrs. F. Scott, black crepe de chine, gold' lace; Mrs. A. Davies, green crepe, de chine and lace; Mrs. C. Hetet, lilac satin, tulle hip bow; ■Mre. P. Harris, black crepe dc chine; Mrs. 11. M. Kingj black lace frock, Uornl J ring Velvet bridge coat; M;:e. P. Niekl, eapphire blue satin .beaute; Mrs.. G. Paul, black georgette, sequin trimming; Mrs. J. Edwards, powder blue beaded georgette 1 ; Mrs. J. Muir, black chiffon velvet, tiger lily] posy; Mrsi E. Beaumont, black velvet and silk net, flame and black shawl; Mrs. Gladden, figured ray dc chine, shoulder poey; Mrs. J. Steel, black satin and georgette; Mrs. G. Sheldon, midnight blue moire diamante trimmings; Mre. L. C. Cox, delphinium blue crepe de chine.
