FAULTY STARTING MACHINES,
CONTRIBUTORY CAUSE OF FALSE
STARTS,
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHUKCH, this day. The New Zealand Trotting Board today re-elected Mr. J. H. Williams president.
The North Island Owners and Trainers' Association wrote stating that the faulty operation of starting machines on some of the North Island courses was the cause of most of the false starts and was a contributory cause of accidents at the start of races. Tjie association recommended, that starting machines should be overhauled on the morning of each race day. After considering the reports of the stipendiary stewards the board, decided to note the and to thank the association for drawing attention to the matter. . .
