MATATA.
The Matata Women's Institute held their monthly meeting last Thursday, when Mrs. Withy presided. After the business there was a lengthy discussion on holding a bulb show. It was finally decided to hold it in September. There were two competitions, one for the best bowl of flowers staged for effect, won by Mrs. Withy, and one for the best use of lib of flour, won by Mrs. Withy, with Mrs. .Pat.tie second. A demonstration of raffia work was given by Mrs. E. Burt, who presented a raffia basket to the Institute. This, with the sale of fruit and seedlings, brought in a fair sum. The hostesses, Mesdames H. Burt, Smith and Reichardt, dispensed afternoon tea.
