Prior to taking up nursing, Miss Dawes took her B.Sc. degree. It is understood when she completes her course at Waiuku it is her intention to go abroad as a missionary. Miss Dawes is a Devonport girl, her parents residing at Jubilee Avenue. . Other Auckland nurses have done splendidly at the State examination this year, the number of high passes being better than for some years past. The result is very gratifying to the Hospital Board and reflects the greatest credit on th& tutor sisters, Misses Widdowson and Henderson.
