Niccoi, of Auckland returned by the Aorangi last evening after a short visit to Vancouver. Captain B. L. Hewitt and Mrs. Hewitt returned to Auckland by the Aorangi yesterday after a trip to Honolulu. Mr. V. R. Meredith, Crown solicitor in Auckland, returned frojii Wellington by the Limited this morning. ' Mr. J. Fletcher, of the Fletcher Construction Co., returned this morning from a business trip to Dunedhv The Hon. J. B. Donald. PpstmasterGeneral, returned by this morning's Limited from Wellington. Mr. •W. J.' Holdsworth will leave for Wellington this evening to attend a meeting of the Local Government Loans Board. Mr. J. Montgomery, of Christehureh, returned by the Aorangi last evening from a visit .abroad. * He is staying at the Grand Hotel. Mr. C. W. Eothe, of the Sydney office of the Colonial Sugar Refining'Coinpany, arrived by the Aorangi yesterday on his return from a trip abroad. Mr.'H. Williams, who has been in England and Jersey for the . last two and a half years, returned to Auckland ■ yesterday' by the Port Alma. Mr. it T. Mcrritt, cx-prcsident of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce, returned ' by the Limited express this morning after a trip to the South. . Mr. C. H. of New Plymouth, who has been on a short visit to Vancouver, returned by the Aorangi yesterday. He is staying at the Grand' Hotel. Mr. W.'Seavin, chairman of directors, and Mr. A. C. Bushel], general manager of the Farmers' Auctioneering Co., Hamilton, returned this morning from a business trip to Wellington. Mr. Vivian Riddiford, of Lower Hutt. returned by the Aorangi last evening from a visit >to Honolulu" He is accompanied by Mrs. Riddiford and their -two * daughters, and is staying at the Grand Hotel.
Messrs. T. Bradshaw. P. E. Verity and E. W. Gifford, directors of Massey, Harris, Limited, agricultural implement manufacturers, of Canada, arrived in Auckland by the Aorangi yesterday on a trip to Australia. , Sir Thomas Henley a member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly, returned by the Aorangi from a visit to Honolulu. He is accompanied by Lady' Henley, and they are staying at the Grand Hotel. Tliey will leave for Sydney this evening. Sir William McPherson, ex-Premier of victoria, and at present Leader of the Nationalist party, is a through passenger for Sydney by the Aorangi. after a. .health trip to England-and the Continent. He is staying at the Grand Hotel.
Professor C. A. Duniway, who occupies the chair of history at Carleton College, U.S.A., arrived by the Aoraiigi yesterday on a tour of New Zealand and Australia. He is under'an engagement to deliver a series of lectures at Sydney University, under the auspices of "the Carnegie Endowment; on American liistorv and government.
