LONDON SPARROWS.
How do the hundreds of thousands of sparrows horn in London every year get a living? When all vehicles were drawn iby horses that scattered the contents of their nose-hags outside every "pullup for carmen," quarts of sparrow food lay on every roadway. Nowadays London sparrows must find it hard- to live. Yet they seem as numerous as ever. The house sparrow is one of the most prolific of British hirds. Nests with eggs in them have been found in London even in December; and one pair will have three broods of five or six each in one season.
