BULBS IN BORDERS.
Where borders have bulbs in them, and •their situation is not certain, digging should be deferred till the foliage shows itself above the soil, to avoid the danger
of cutting through them. The spade is worse than the fork, in any case, for this work. A good old plan is to mark the situation of bulbs by means of a stout peg.
