STATE LOTTERY?
ONE MEMBER IN FAVOUR.
WOULD CABINET AGREE?
(By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. "I believe the time has come for a State lottery in New Zealand," said Mr. W. J. Broadfoot (Waitomo) in the House. "Let us have a Tattersalls in New Zealand," said Mr. Broadfoot. "I would prefer to see that run by the Government than to see our people sending hundreds of thousands of pounds across the water to keep Tasmania running. For that reason, I propose an amendment to the Gaming Amendment Bill." Mr. J. A. Nash (Palmerston) asked if the Cabinet Ministers would support Mr. Broadfoot. Mr. Broadfoot: They can speak for themselves.
