The fortnightly meeting of the executive committee was held on Monday. The selector advised that, owing to tlu inability of players to obtain the necessary leave to travel to Christcliureh, lie could not get a strong team to make the trip. In view of this fact it Whs decided to withdraw the association's challenge. The annual match, Waikato v. Auckland, will be played at Auckland on August 23. WAIPA ASSOCIATION. TE AWAMUTU, Thursday. The Waipa Hockey Association's Empson Cup competitions were continued yesterday, when Paterangi B and Ramblers played a drawn game at Te Awamutu, two goals each. Playing at Paterangi Paterangi A was defeated by Waratalis by 4 goals ta 2.
